Tinting companies out here in California tell people that 30% or 50% or whatever on the fronts is legal as well.
The bottom line is, it isn't.
But you may be correct, perhaps the East Coast has a adopted a "lets toss states' rights out the window" law for the purpose of window tint.
Somehow, I doubt it.
Now, some states don't mind tint on front windows, I know that for a fact; And it may mean that some states on the east coast allow a certain %, or any, or none.
But I highly doubt they have a "since we all have different laws lets just not enforce it" rule.
There are plenty of laws that vary from state to state, and they don't toss those out the window, so I'd be very suprised if they made a special case for window tint.
