Shaking issues
I have searched but found no real solid answer on why my car does this:
During acceleration especially in 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear, the whole car shakes throughout. I am trying to pinpoint the problem because it makes it unsafe to drive when the steering wheel is shaking everywhere. I think I have it narrowed down, but I need someone to confirm the problem. The drivers side axle was replaced about 4 months ago, so that isn't the problem. The passenger side axle has been slinging boot grease onto my tranny for the last 30k miles, so it may be on its last legs and causing the shakes because of blown CV joints. I don't know about this because it isn't clicking at all when I make turns. I don't think it is the wheel balancing because it would shake at a certain speed regardless of throttle position. Alignment is good because I got it aligned a few months ago. I don't know if it is a broken motor mount but I would assume that if it were, it would shake in all gears under acceleration. The rotors definitely need to be replaced because they are warped to shit and I plan to do that in a few weeks but I don't think that is the culprit either. So I think it may be a motor mount or the passenger side CV axle. What do you guys think?
I really need to figure this out because next weekend, I am going to put a halt to my massive oil burning problem with the replacement of my piston rings and valve seals, so I would like to do all this at once so I can not have to worry about another problem for a while. Please help me out and share some experiences because I will go to any length to fix this annoying problem.
