No, it's not a bunch of freakin exotic ass crap inside there making magical "built" pixie dust.

The motor in the SVT Focus has variable valve timing, an intake manifold with switchable runner length, a bit higher compression ratio, blah blah blah. It's a 2.0 liter engine that makes 170 hp. That's 10 hp more than a base RSX or Civic Si from the same displacement, and 30 to 40 hp shy of an RSX Type-S depending on year. It is not "built."

Similarly the suspension has firmer shocks, stiffer springs and thicker swaybars than the regular Focus. But it has no magic "fully tuned for autocross" pixie dust going on in it.

It has bigger brakes than the regular Focus. It has bigger wheels than the regular Focus. It has a subtle body kit. It has a 6-speed transmission.

Overall it's a nice package with a few drawbacks (seats are rather high off the floor, for example) but it is by no means some amazing super special hot rod with magical powers as your friend is making it out to be.
