I have a 90 Accord, recently the shift light on the dash started coming on when I start it up and I would have to manually shift it. Then I found out that if I disconnected the battery cable when it did this the light would be off when I started it back up and it would shift fine. At least until I stopped and started it again then I would have to do the battery thing again. Actually it gradually built up to that because at first the light would stay off for days. Now were at the point where it will come on while I am driving and down shift into 1st or 2nd gear, so I quit driving it. Now I am tired of waiting for my husband to get around to finding out what's wrong with it and fixing it, so here I am. Am I wrong in thinking it is a sensor? Possibly speed sensor? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
