Should I go and replace the fuel filter?
I would definitely let the pros do the timing belt and water pump but a valve adjustment is easy to do yourself. I am sure there is a write up on a DIY for that one floating around here somewhere. Here you go: http://student.ucr.edu/~ohe02/valveadj.html
