I (knock on wood) have never had any trouble with automatic transmissions on Honda's. My first Honda, a 89 Accord LXi, which had been in the family since day one, as a hand me down car, made it through 3 different owners and a total of 7 different drivers with a total of 192,578 miles on the clock. I took ownership in 2000/133,000 miles, and until that point the transmission fluid had never been touched, I had a time trying to loosen the bolt, but I changed the fluid once a year and I had no problems. We'd still have the car, but we didn't need it so it was traded in. Then we had a 96 Accord EX with no transmission problems, and now we have a 99 Accord and a 02 Accord with so far, no transmission problems and I hope it stays that way.
