Default Accord = Soldier

2000 Accord EX sedan auto... i drive mine like a maniac...what's a break in period? i peeled out of the dealership when i bought it. I've got about 87,000 miles on it...80-95% of that is hard acceleration, cornering, turns, 40mph u turns...i've used the thing for autocross a few times (won first place in STS each time). but i use my city as one big autocross course everytime i get in it. i once found a deserted road and did 0-120mph sprints for about 10-15 minutes str8, then went driving like a crazy person for another 2 hours after that...did i mention i had been driving for an hour before the sprints? i've run over stuff, hit dips doin 50 (by accident, and it was only like 3 times), before i lowered it i'd roll thru or over just about anything...i've never slowed down for a train track in my life. i've been thru 5 sets of brakes, front and rear...i dunno how many sets of tires. but those are the only things i've ever had to replace on the car. well, when i hit that dip i destroyed my catalytic converter, and broke a bracket holding my header in. i did about 1200 worth of damage to the car...but i worked at a honda dealership (process operator with citgo petroleum now), so i paid my boys in honda service 30 bucks on the side and they sent it in as a warranty claim. i also once hit a racoon doing 70mph...he took out my a/c condenser and a couple pipes associated with that. i've also been cutting board drifting in the car...i took two thick cutting boards and put them under the rear wheels, locked the handbrake and floored it until i burned completely through the boards. for a while i experimented with trailbraking, and the ebrake itself...destroyed my rear brakes in 20k miles (a personal record, hold your applause) i've pretty much done everything you can to, and in that car. and i've never had a problem with it. the only things i replaced was stuff i broke myself. the tranny did go at 60k, but that was no problem because i got a new one for free under the recall. i put it in honda service when i got to work that morning, by 1pm i had a new tranny, so i had no downtime whatsoever. now i dont know any other car that could survive me the way the accord has. i believe cars are made to be driven, and my accord is WELL DRIVEN. and like i said, i've NEVER replaced anything on that car but the brakes and tires. you'd think i'd have blown a cv shaft or something with the car being lowered 2+ inches for about 50k miles now, and the way i throw that thing around every corner i can find (i've even tried to drift the thing), but everything is fine. the car doesn't rattle, it's not noisy (other than the exhaust, header, intake) it doesn't squeak, it starts fine everytime, no shaking, no nothing. even as hard as i've killed my braking system, i've still got the original rotors, just had to have them turned a few times, but again that was my fault. this accord is the best car i've ever owned, and i'll never buy anything but honda/acura (same thing). if you sell 1 million+ vehicles a year, there's gonna be 1 in there with problems...im talkin to you Vick. sorry you got a bad honda, but that's definately the exception, not the rule. i know a guy with a 92 prelude with 180k+ and still RUNS...it's all in the upkeep of the car, i dont know if you bought yours new or used, but i got mine new and have had every oil change on time (or early). Every scheduled maintenance, and have beaten the thing like it stole something everyday since i bought it. now you find me another car out there that i can put thru the hell i've put my accord thru. my accord is a soldier. the thing is damn near invincible. well, as long as there are no raccoons with hand grenades waitin for me to run them over again. i've driven the thing for 27K since the tranny change and haven't had a problem with it yet...even at 87k, i drive it harder than the day i bought it. mainly because of all the fun i can have with the suspension and engine mods... i've more than gotten my money's worth from this car...and by the looks of the accord, it's ready for another 87K...if you dont believe me, check out the pics...
