If you just drain your trans fluid you will leave at least 40% of old contaminated fluid in. The best thing is to use "power-flush" machine (pushes old fluid with new fluid under pressuer).

Also, on all my cars I change trans fluid ever 20,000 miles. I am surprised you waited until 100k. Lack of fluid maintenance is the most common cause of transmission failure.
