aaanyway... your first problem is that your dad purchased an s/e phone. go back and fix that, then we'll talk.

seriously though, i'd try leaving the battery out of the phone overnight, putting it back in, throwing it on the charger and see what happens. sometimes phones are just quirky. if the phone is working properly, the screen should power on when the phone is connected to the charger.
