I did the first set (Kragen) myself and I had no bubbles. It lasted 8 years now (except the fading). The rear glass I had to cut into strips (along the defrost lines, cut from outside the glass). The trick was to make sure to start squeegeeing from one side to the other, not from center out.

I admit, that professionals can do a better job because at the "dots" at the side is impossible to get totally flush.
