hey everyone i need some advice here..
i bought my 92 integra GS about 6 months ago from a dealership. this is a long story so bare with me here...
before finalizing the sale i was sure to ask if it had been in any accidents. I was told nothing over $1000 of damage (where i live they are required by law to declare anything $2000 or greater). I did a learn search, and had it inspected by a mechanic down the road from the dealership. anyways ill cut to the chase here...
i recently replaced the tires because i noticed that they were wearing very oddly. A few days later i went to get the alignment done to find that all the suspension on the front passenger side was bent including the upper control arm, spindle, and strut as well as 2 other things i cant remember. knowing this had to be from an accident i went and did a VIN search (yes i know, i should have done this before i bought the car, im learning ok.. x_x)
the results told me the car had been in EIGHT ACCIDENTS TOTALLING OVER $12,000 IN REPAIRS!!!!!!! :madfawk:
(the most major of these beng 5000, and second most 3000. these 2 happend in 1993 however)
well ill be damned if im going to let the dealership get away with this...
ive owned this integra for 6 months and ive already done all the following:
-head gasket
-radiator
-all belts
-motor mounts
-rear calipers (and all pads)
-new tires (as mentioned before)
-and now all this suspension stuff
not to mention all the little customization things ive done including tailpipe, amber corner markers, custom red fog lights on the front (illegal but cool), and right now im switching all my interior lighting to red.
i want to know if this car is gonna be worth keeping. i mean, i know after one accident a car will never be the same..... BUT EIGHT?! im suprized it wasnt a write off yet. but im suprized how well it runs, even the guy at the shop who was fixing it didnt beleive the VIN report. it seems in really good shape! and i really love my integra i dont want to get rid of it!
i mean just look at her:

(its an old pic, and its kinda small but u get the idea)
ICBC has recomended that i write a demand letter to them. then they will have 30 days to respond to the demands or ICBC fraud will hunt them down.
i have 2 options:
option1: get ALL the money i paid for the car back AS WELL as all the money i have put into it and give them back the car (probably between $9-10,000)
option2: get the money for this most recent repair and the motor mounts (cause they were also probly wrecked from the accident) as well as depreciation (probably about $4000) and keep the car and hope for the best
what do u think?
