i was lucky enough to find some smal PVC piping with a small elbow on it in my friends workshop. We used that as a way to fill the tranny from the top of the engine using the fill hole.

You will notice that the fill hole is about level with the axle. Shouldn't be too hard to find the correct bolts. I like how honda utilized the 3/8 ratchet for the drain plug.

I used penzoil synchromesh in mine and it works ok.
