My opinion is that the b18b is a more worthwile swap, no question about it.
I've always wondered, granted the b16 has considerable top-end compared to a 1.6l d-series, but why go through the trouble of swapping in a motor with the same displacement? IMO it's just not worth it. The torque gains from the b18 are the driving factor (no pun intended) behind my opinion. And remember, IF you decide to turbo this engine in the future, the b18 will walk the b16 all day (on similar budgets).
On similar budgets

. Of course it would. B16A2's are 2000-2500 dollars, whereas the b18b is less than 1000, you could do a lot more with a B18B if your budget is limited.
He is right about the torque. It will pull harder, which makes it more fun.
