Edmunds.com has great pricing info...invoices, MSRPs and their 'TMV'.
PITR: I used to sell cars (I try to forget about when I did that but sometimes it's helpful), and bringing in documents like that isn't a good negotiating tool

They have to make their money some how, and either they're going to screw him on his trade in or the car he's going to buy. Or both if he doesn't negotiate.
maybe you sold cars but obviously you weren't any good at it... why go to edmunds.com when i just gave him the invoices? just add 515 for the destination charge, and that's invoice. and yes, bring that with you if you want. demand to see the invoices. dont be intimidated. dont be afraid to leave if you cant get what you want. the salesman will sweat alot more than you will. shop around. be firm and you wont get screwed. simple shit. i sold cars for a year and a half, and am glad i did. obviously you sucked at it if you're trying to forget. i sold 12 cars and made 7000 my first month on the job, something i'm proud to remember. if you want a good deal, knowledge is power. sure the salesman may hate you when it's done, but it's either you or him and you're not going there to make friends. when i buy my S2000 later this year, im getting it for invoice or less (depending on whether they have dealer cash at the time or not). another thing, when you get to the business office and they show you your intrest rate, ask to see the call back from the bank. not a printed one, ask them to pull it up on dealerworld, or credit connect, or whatever program they use so you can see your real intrest rate, not the one they've marked up to show you. also, extended warranties, gap insurance, everything on the back end has markup just like the front end. if you fight, u can get that discounted just like the car. like i said, those are the invoices. why AV6 wants u to go to edmunds, i dunno. you've got all the info you need right there. have fun, good luck. need any advice, lemme know. i was one of the best salesmen, so i know how to beat the best salesmen. remember, people can only to do you what you let them do. if you get screwed when buying a car, it's your own fault for not fighting back
