i'd have to see the dent to be sure...but yeah he's tryin to jack u pretty good there lol the thing books out at around 20,800...i could see maybe knockin 300-500 off for the ding at the most...but that's still 20,300 worst case. they use nada, and that's trade in on it anyway...but you're never gonna get str8 trade in on a vehicle. i'd say a reasonable offer would be 19,500 to start and if you could get 20,000 or a little more for it that would be doin pretty good...but yeah, 16,200 is crap lol he probably actually appraised it higher, but only showed you 16,200 to hold gross on your trade. if the used car manager actually put 19,500 in it, and the sales person only gives you 16,200, he just picked up 2300 bucks in front end gross that he gets paid on. if they were gonna give u a big discount on the car, they have to make their money back somehow, so they'd do it on the trade. if they weren't gonna give u a good discount, then they were really tryin to make money on you lol i'd have the thing appraised at a few dealerships and see what they say. but just dont go in there expecting to get full retail, which is around 23,000 after the hit for the damage, because that's not gonna happen. the most you should get for that car is the 19,000-20,000 range, and 20,000 would actually be pretty generous. good luck with the car shopping...oh, and if you need any prices on new hondas let me know because i still have my list with all true honda invoices for every model they make. i worked at a honda dealership up until earlier this month (took a job as a process operator at citgo petroleum $$$$$) so if u've got anymore car buying questions i'll be happy to help. im gonna have alot of fun when i buy my 05 S2000 in a couple months haha
