Big question to ask, though: will the engines sport a combination of i-VTEC, direct fuel injection and possibly stratified combustion, essentially modern derivatives of the K20B engine found on the JDM Stream?

It appears my "educated guess" on the suggested engines for the 7th-generation Civic is pretty close to the truth, though I think the smallest of these engines will more likely be 1.5 liters (non-hybrid form on the Fit, as part of IMA hybrid drivetrain for the next-generation Civic Hybrid).
