the whole 'emo' thing is becoming such a horrible fad it kinda makes me wanna vomit.

emo is a style of music, and has a number of different sub-genres. i guess.

when i think of emo i immediately think of dashboard. mostly acoustic, whiney singer with equally whiney lyrics.

theres also stuff like screamo, emo-core, etc.. which is a bit harder in the music and lyrics alike.

dashboard-type lyrics:

ouch, my heart hurts a lot
you stepped on it with your chuck taylors
i'll take a picture of it, beaten and bruised
and post it on my myspace profile

emo-core/screamo:

you ripped my ****ing heart out
and then took a piss on it
i'll shred it up with a rusty knife
and feed it to your mother

see the difference?

anyway. yeah. i like a lot of music that is considered 'emo'. shit, who am i kidding. i like everything from john denver to atreyu.
