What weapon?
Cool, I wasn't really good or anything, I just fenced Novice Foil. I almost made it to the final round in the one tournament that I actually competed in. In my last elimination round I had to fence this Japanese girl that was really good, it wasn't fair actually. She had like 6 or 8 years experience fencing Sabre but she just started Foil so she was a "novice". I thought this was kind of BS and so did my team but whatever. Anyway, I was actually beating her and it was making her really mad because she knew I was a noob. I could tell because she got more and more agressive & sloppy. Then I kind of sidestepped and lunged at her and she sprung at me like a pouncing tiger, actually jumping off the ground towards me. I ended up clocking her in the head with the bell of the foil so hard that it knocked her mask off and laid her flat on the floor unconsious. She came too after maybe like 10 seconds, slowly got up, and WANTED TO CONTINUE the bout. I was so upset I was shaking and I felt like I was going to throw up. All I could think was "OMG I just hit a girl". I couldn't concentrate or stop shaking because I was so afraid I was going to hurt her so she very quickly caught up and beat me and went on to win.
There were a bunch of female fencers and it never bothered me to fence them when it was just a game, but when I KOed that girl it became like a real fight to me. I was ok by the next practice though.
Unfortunately my schedule was really hectic with all crazy hard SOM classes so I didn't get to fence nearly as much as I would have liked. It was so much fun. Oh, our co-captain was a girl too.
