Yeah, you're pretty confused here.

For hybrid cars with VTEC engine swaps, an RPM switch needs to be wired in to activate VTEC if you didn't wire in the proper VTEC ECU.

For cars that come stock with a VTEC engine, you're wasting your time. You're just wiring in a fancy VTEC light. To do that, tap the power wire into the VTEC signal.
