Of course not. But pedal covers aren't as over-rated as people think. I got the ones with holes in them so my feet don't slip off the pedals. I can't be the only person who thinks they are useful.
I like my covers because they made practicing heel-toe down shifting more precise. The stock pedals are usually designed so regular people don't accidentally hit multiple pedals at once. The covers add a bit more edge, and add some extra pedal on the accelerator just where your heel goes during a heel-toe shift. I think they helped me learn the heal-toe shift faster than when I didn't have them.
I tried picking the most subdued covers possible that were actually functional. Razo isn't too bad.
And BTW, I have a stock colored Wheelskin. And it does do something: better grip on the wheel, and feels nicer. To this day, no one who's ridden in my car has even noticed that I have it on because it's matched so well. But *I* can feel the difference.
