The reason a car sounds deeper with a catalytic converter instead of a test pipe is because it adds volume to the inside of your exhaust. Replace a big cat with a small pipe and it will have a higher pitch.
Sort of like a beer flute. Full bottle=higher pitch.

OK! say I put the cat back on and keep the 5zigen pipes and get a new muffler. Is 2.5" better than 2.25" and is mandrel bend better, also with or without resonators?
I really want to know how to make my exhaust really deep so I can set off car alarms?
