I have the Chinese version. Vendors are selling them for $150-160 cdn for imports and $20 for copied versions yet they still go out of stock in a day.
Sad thing is they left out a lot of the cars on the lists.

No M coupe but like three M3s. No Saab, Porsche (only Ruf).
Quick points, sorry a bit disorganized:
The new tracks are amazing. Nurburing was crazy. New e90 is a dream on it.
Lots of used cars but the years are different. Like the 93 SR-V is listed as a 91? Mileage is cool, like the used cars come with 50-70k km and you have to get an oil change after you buy it.
Sounds are 200% better. You can tell a b18 from a b16.
Handling is a lot more realistic with nose dips, g-force factors (actually shows), fuel guages. If you hit someone the screen goes blurry for a bit.
They have a lot of tuner companies but even after I put on an exhaust from HKS I noticed zero visual change.

GT Auto now has the option to add huge ricey t-wings to any car, haha. When the guy changes your oil, you see someone go undernear haha.
Arcade mode has 260+ cars, probably more unlockable.
It seems easier a lot easier to earn money.
License tests are cool. For some you have to complete a lap in a certain amount of time, but you get a crappy slow car and there is a pace car Skyline ahead of you.
The gear ratios seem to be off from real cars. I noticed 0-60 times to be off a bit like GT3 but after you fix the ratios things are okay again.
That's it...i'll have some screenshots of modified cars soon.
I recommend you mod your PS2 and buy the import version. It's worth it 100%.
