Back when I was driving my 89 accord hatchback about 2 or 3 years ago. I was coming down a hill that was all covered with snow, very slippery. I couldn't stop or turn... was headed right for the rocks around the corner. What saved me was the ruble strips they cut into the shoulder of the road. It gave me just enough traction to stop and then slowly turn and get going in the right direction.
