I have the stage 3 Pressure plate (with Street/strip disc) and have worn out one clutch cable after a year of driving/auto-xing it. I just replaced the cable and all is well again. It's best to get a new one from Acura because they are now available with a better lubricant in them and teflon-like coating on the cable itself so it lasts longer.
As far as your surging idle, you should remove the throttle body and reset your Cold Idle Valve (FITV). There is a post in this forum on how to do it.
