You tell the bodyshop that you want everything that is damaged REPLACED and to give you a quote accordingly. You tell the insurance company the same. You fax them the quote that the bodyshop you chose gave you, they send out an adjuster and adjust it and bs with your bodyshop to come up with a more reasonable price and then you drop your car off and say wallah bingo and it's put back to new condition.

Now if you're trying to make some dough on the deal, you gotta either 1) have your car paid off or convince your insurance company you are unsure where you're going and that you got a quote to have it all replaced and that they are welcome to send out an adjuster and then cut YOU a check for it. Then depending how bad the damage is you can go get it REPAIRED and pocket teh change.
