The rubbery balloon chewing sound could be bushings from a camber kit if you have it or bushings in general (usually aftermarket), you can lube those no problem. Try what the others said for the hatch, if it is still there...checked for screws on hose clamps that may be rubbing against something metal under the hood. I had that noise for a while and I could not track it down for shit. I thought it was coming from anywhere in the car as I could not pinpoint it. Finally i found it on accident and just turned the screw, problem solved.
