while you're at Home Depot, pick up a section of that L-shaped metal to make a reinforcing bar that will run across the entire width of the trunk above the spare tire well. screw it to the underside of the board, or even directly to the car. :thumbup:
edit- i don't know what it's called. it's like an I beam, but shaped like an L. like what's on the corner of this cabinet.
