That is not technically true, there is a thing called metastasis which is where the cancer cells spread to a different area, so you get skin cancer in your lung for example. Cancer may turn out to be a window to immortality, interestingly enough. The cells grow and grow, instead of growing, maturing and dying. The mechanism is basically the same for various cancers, you just start with different tissue types. They will never "cure" HIV, there is no money in a cure, and who is going to be the first to test a vaccine? Not me.
