In the end, there is no wrong answer here, just the marketplace force and what it dictates. If I could afford it, my performance machine would be the new Acura 3.2 TL w/ the new fangled 4 wheel drive system, a Lexus, or maybe just maybe, a nice Benz. For a "fun" car, I get me the same one that I have, but a new one (the new 05 Civic Hatch).

Detroit would never see a penny of mine...mainly because for over 25 years, Detroit products burned me more than once. But to paraphrase you, diferrent strokes and bores for different folks and chores
