GT4 was set to be the game that sold PS2 consoles during the xmas season. Because of the newly re-designed PStwo and tremendous sales of GTA: San Andreas, there was no need to lanuch the title just yet. You couldn't find a PS2 system if you wanted to around xmas.
Sony is saving this title to meet 1st or 2nd quarter 2005 revenue expectations.
