You could just try to talk to the boss and explain some things. Like you don't want to work there etc. etc....
I wouldn't want to miss 20 days worth of pay. I remember what it's like not to have job security even though it's been a few years. I couldn't quit my job even if I wanted to though (Army) but that's not the point.
My point is every job has it's bullsh!t, and every once in while you have to suck it up and do sh!t you don't want to do. Sure it sucks, but I just try to remember that we have it a whole lot better here in this country than people do in others.
