but ill tell u what there is almost no way of telling what an engine is actually making at the crank unless u are the manufacturer. Look at the hyundai scandal a year or 2 ago. I know someone with a tiburon who got a letter from hyundai saying they overated HP figures for that car and offering an extended warranty and service as compensation. regardless of how much WHP a car makes, since most manfacturers rate vehicles by Crank HP its a level playing field.
A stock scooby makes around 160 at the Wheels and they start off with 227 at the crank. Which is why a stock prelude vtec can edge out a WRX from any roll above 5 MPH.
