Well you are not just burning it. You need to shrink it, compressing 9gigabytes of data into 4.5 gigs takes a little time. That's how long full dvd's usually take (ie. boxset dvds). New movies will usually take 30 mins to compress and older movies on dvd will be about 10 minutes, since they don't have as much footage, like extras.
