The LS engine has more torque so that is why it feels quicker off the line. A GSR engine can give you a nice relatively quick daily driver with a few mods. However many people with the LS engine either turbo it or to a LS/Vtec which both will be faster than a GSR motor. Most people swap the GSR motor into their hatch since it is usually an easy way to get into the 13s.
