Vibration at Idle - Torque Converter...?
The '95 Accord EX Wagon I just bought has an annoying vibration at idle, in gear. I feel it more than hear it. (My wife's 95 Accord LX is very smooth.)
I had a tune-up and the mechanic said it was my TORQUE CONVERTER.
Also: There seems to be a vacuum line going to the rear Engine Mount.
Is this for real? Or just an illusion? (Someone mentioned this in another thread. But I didn't believe it, then.)
___________
The vibration occours whether I'm in drive or reverse (putting a different pressure on the rear engine mount).
Also, I see vibration midway on the exhaust pipe about where there is a flexible connection.
The engine doesn't seem to be vibrating any more than my wife's car. So I tend to believe it's a mount problem. What about that strange vacuum line...?
Wouldn't an unbalanced torque converter vibrate during driving or idling in neutral/park?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Stan
