This is just a shot in the dark but it sounds like a ignition problem. On the other hand a clogged fuel filter or fuel pump could also cause a problem similar to this. Or your throttle plate is gumming up and sticking. When was the last time that you did a full tune up (ie. fuel filter, cap, rotor) Next time it happens pull to the side of the road and before you turn the engine off get the code from the ecu. Where in Jersey are you located. A friend of mine owns a shop in flemington that is really good (and he won't rip you off)
