My J30A1 used to burn about a quart every 3k miles...it was getting pretty bad. Then I switched to castrol full synthetic and it hasn't burned a single drop since :dunno:

Cars lose oil as they age...seals break down, your engine becomes less efficient. It's a fact of life. Cleaning out your throttle body, changing your spark plugs, and pouring some seafoam into your crankcase and PVC vacuum hose will clean out the carbon deposits in your engine. That might help it.
