the problem with cathods is they are made of glass and are meant to be placed inside a computer that will do little moving around.. plus most cathods (and a $4 a tube that sound like the crappy cheap ones) i have played with a very fragile. just get the car made tubes... they are fused and shielded to withstand some abuse
