Obviously you never used the Terminal in OS X, or in fact any real application for OS X (Just pour through the Utilities folder sometime. Some impressive tools they have in there).
At my school, it was always the Apple's being used and the PCs being neglected. The Apple's were always more stable and more smooth in their use for most everyone I know. Hell, after working on PCs all day, coming home to a mac is a relief in stability and well-thought design. It's no wonder that only one person in my entire tech support department has a Windows machine at home (the rest are split between Mac OS X and Free BSD)
