The car IS NOT continuing the legacy of the RX-7. It is simply continuing the existance of the Wankel Rotary engine. If it was supposed to be a follow-up to the RX-7, they (Toyo Kogyo, aka Mazda) would have named it as such. The RX-8 is the newest in the long line of Mazda Rotary powered cars (the Cosmo Sport, R100, R130, RX-2, RX-3, RX-4 "Luce", RX-5 "Cosmo," RX-7 series 1-8, and the latest Cosmo.)
Why must you folks keep compairing a sports car (S2000) to a grand touring car (RX-8)? Is it not enough that this N/A GT four seater, four door car can keep up with a sports car?
