the clutch engagement isn't dependant on the revs.. It's dependant on the clutch pedal position..
I could hold the clutch pedal right below engagement and give more throttle all the way up to 7k.. and then state the clutch didn't grab until 7k
A clutch slip would feel like this.. suppose your were cruising @a fixed mph, if you push in the clutch all of the sudden the revs will climb very quickly but you wouldn't make any forward progress.. ie your car would not accelerate.
you basically stated it here yourself.. it's dependant on the pedal position.

Also, i noticed that the clutch dosent grab at the same point anymore. It grabs at a much higher point. Like when the clutch pedal is almost completeley released, then it will finally grab.
Have you tried bleeding the clutch system? you might be replacing a slave cylinder shortly
