I can say that when talking about exhaust systems for motorcycles, a street system is much quieter and often still meets most EPA and local noise emission standards. A race system is much louder and designed for off road use only, but is capable of a greater increase in power... IF TUNED CORRECTLY.

IF you want a little extra exhaust note when accerating hard, the street system is probably best. If you want a little more increase in top end power and don't mind annoying half the public and waking the neighbors, the race system is best.

Keep in mind.. commonly most aftermarket exhausts only increase the top end slightly and often create flat spots or decrease power in the bottom end.
