Car Audio + MP3 (Line In)
Okay, I have a '98 Civic LX with stock reciever and stock attatched CD player. I want to explore cheap options for getting my sound sytem hooked up to my MP3 player, by any means possible, EXCEPT for FM transmitter.
The main thing that I'm looking at is an auxillary line input that can apparently plug into the back of my reciever (in place of a CD changer). Without knowing much about cars, one question is, is the CD changer jack what my single CD player (stock, hooked up below reciever) is plugged in to, or can I use both?
The other thing I'm looking into is replacing my current reciever with a cheap, eBay tape deck or simple radio reciever with a line in jack. Then my question is, can I still plug my honda CD player into that reciever?
Any thoughts on why one of these options are better, or is there something else that someone can recommend? If you think I should use aux line input, do I need to buy honda part or are there third party vendors?
Thanks for all your help. I know there's alot of info in here, I'd appreciate whatever you can do!
