I have a 85 accord hatch, with two subs in the boot, so i have one facing each way.
But if i just had one i would face it back, as i find it gives a more fuller sound.

Was once told it is like dropping a rock in water, the ferther u are away from the source of the sound the more full the sound. Not really sure if that is 100% true, but it sounds cool to me.
