Vtec will always engage on the GSR at 4400 rpm regardless of gear. The secondary intake runners will always open at 5800 regardless of gear....which is why I really have to go fast to get them open in 5th gear.

If your oil pressure is too low the cams will not engage until a higher RPM, you will probably hear clicking and stuff as they try to engage and fail.

One suggestion, learn how to downshift or something because coming out a corner in 4th gear? Im suprised you didnt bog lol.
