It's not extremely difficult, but it's not a walk in the park either. If you have a Helms, a couple friends, and are mechanically inclined, you can do the project in a weekend. For me, the hardest part was getting the timing belt lined back up correctly. If you know someone who has done all the work before, see if he/she will lend a hand.
