Holy crap. The law that states you can't remove a working catalytic converter isn't a state law. That's why there are two types of emissions... Federal, and California (stiffer than Federal). They're not supposed to be resold because they're not supposed to work. You're not supposed to remove it even from a junked car, and that's why the local (in VA) junkyards I've been to cut them all off with a plasma cutter and crush them. Chesterfield Auto Parts, Taylor Auto Parts, Always Used Auto Parts all do that.

I know of 1 junkyard that you could find cat' converters in, but he doesn't even have a yellow or white page listing, only has about 150 cars, and is hell bent on crushing every last one of them instead of selling anything off of them. What's crazy is... he's actually got a few Hondas, he usually does, nobody else around here ever does, and this place is in Richmond city limits. No I won't tell you who it is. :fawk:
