Check out:

http://www.suspension.com/civic.htm

Their website looks like crap, but they're legit. I've purchased urethane shifter and rear sway bar bushings from them (two separate occasions). They are actually concerned with getting the order right (person on phone made me confirm sway bar diameter by measuring, not just by how I was told it was). For you 97 civic coupe, you'll need:

88-00 Honda Civic Manual Transmission Shifter Stabilizer Bushings Set 16-1102 $9.00

As for installation, if you were able to do the short shifter as you showed above, you can easily do this install. Just change out those rubber ones for these and use the silicon grease they supply with the kit.

Shifter feels more "notchy" and precise, and less rubbery. I was worried able engine vibration at the shifter. But turns out, vibrates like an electric toothbrush at idle, but hardly is annoying. Fun $9 to spend and it feels GREAT. You get more of that "guh-clunk!" feel when you shift which is nice.
