To be blunt, no.
Not if you want the best possible sound reproduction.
Not if you want speakers that can handle sustained high volume without blowing or distorting.
If you're gonna put money into setting up an MP3 player, then spend the money for two pairs of quality 2 way coaxial speakers. I'd recommend the Infinity 625i (which is what I run in the DC4 together with a BassLink Subwoofer).
