Look at it this way. No matter what mods you do you will still suck your first year. So save the money for a novice autocross school or Evolution School (

I bet you $100 that you can throw $10,000 into your car and I can beat you in my 1989 Civic Si stock with DOT R tires. Autocrossing is about the driver, so mod the driver first before modding your car.
